The seminar addresses the critical requirements for food labeling. Participants will explore the essential elements of accurate and clear labeling, which are vital for consumer information and compliance.
At the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:
Understand the basic requirements of Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 regarding the provision of information to consumers.
Recognize the mandatory labeling information on packaged and non-packaged foods.
Identify and correctly implement the allergen declaration and nutritional declaration
Distinguish between legitimate and misleading claims
Interpret specific requirements for product categories such as meat products, dairy products, baked goods, plant products.
Create or review label mockups based on legal requirements.
Use tools and databases (e.g. EU Register of Nutrition and Health Claims, EFET) for compliance checking.
